EP 2 – Breaking Chains: Triumph over Addiction with Luke Worsfold

In this gripping episode, Gary welcomes Luke Worsfold, a counselor and addiction expert, who shares his personal journey of addiction and recovery. Luke recounts the pivotal moment when a friend’s brutally honest comment shattered his denial and propelled him to make a life-changing decision.

From that moment on, Luke embarked on a path of self-discovery and transformation, seeking therapy and untangling the tangled web of emotions. He opens up about the challenges he faced, including relapses and making amends, and how he found purpose in helping others through counseling.

Join us as we explore the power of accountability, the importance of self-care, and the incredible resilience of the human spirit. Luke also discusses his custom-built program for clients, which includes video lessons, one-on-one counseling sessions, and accountability phone calls. He introduces a custom assessment tool that helps individuals understand their drinking habits and where they fall on the continuum of alcohol dependence.

But this episode goes beyond one person’s story of recovery. Gary and Luke delve into broader themes of addiction, recovery, and the power of leading by example. They discuss the importance of recognizing progress and celebrating wins along the journey to sobriety, rather than focusing solely on failures and relapses. They explore the challenges faced by professionals and executives and the impact of generational trauma.
